Better Than Sex Brownies

Now I know in my recent posts, like this one, I have been talking about healthier options but I think once in a while a treat does you good. I can hear my mom's voice in the back of my head, 'everything is okay in moderation' and generally this is the rule I follow when it comes to food.

Earlier this week I had a couple people over for dinner and I decided since it was a beautiful summer day (few and far between in England) I would make some pulled pork with all the fixins'.

After getting everything ready for the meal, with the pork slow roasting in the oven, I realised I hadn't planned anything for dessert. I always forget about dessert!

I needed to think of something that didn't need much time to prepare but would be up to par with the meal. I spotted this recipe while looking for a gluten free dessert but the original recipe is actually cake. I find that gluten free brownies aren't as dry, which is why I chose to use these instead as my base.

With a name like 'Better Than Sex' Brownies you place a high standard on the level of satisfaction these will provide and they didn't disappoint, disappearing in literally minutes.

Did I mention these were quick and easy?!? And the whole better than sex bit?? Well I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Here's what you need;
Box of Brownie Mix
12 dates
Cup of water
2 Tbsp Greek Yoghurt
1 Can of Condensed Milk
1 Can of Caramel
Whipped Cream ( I used the stuff from a can)
Toffee or Fudge Pieces

To start off place the dates in a cup of water and let them soak for about 20 minutes.

Place the water and dates in a blender with the brownie mix and yoghurt. Blend until smooth and pour mixture into pan. Bake according to recommendations on the box.

While the brownies are baking combine condensed milk and caramel in a bowl and mix well.

Once the brownies are done baking, remove from oven and using a skewer poke holes all over.

Pour the caramel mixture over the brownies and let cool. Once cool, place in the fridge to chill for at least an hour.

Just before serving take the brownies out of the fridge and top with whipped cream and fudge pieces.

Watch it quickly disappear.
