I feel like a little girl every year when my birthday arrives, I get so excited! Not because I know I'm going to get presents but because I know I'm going to spend time with people that mean so much to me. Everyone is always so busy, it becomes difficult to coordinate schedules, so each year my birthday is a little reminder for me to be grateful for all the incredible people that I have in my life.
This years birthday was a laid back, relaxing kinda day , just see where the day takes me. After I took my time enjoying my tea, cards and presents, I decided to head into Manchester to to a bit of shopping. I enjoy shopping by myself at times, browsing the shops at my leisure. I'm the type of person that likes to thoroughly look at everything, which means I can spend hours shopping.
All my perusing built up quite an appetite, so I was happy to accept an invite to lunch at Dogs n Dough. I will apologise in advance for no pictures, I forgot with all the birthday excitement. As you may of guessed by the name, this restaurant sticks to serving hot dogs and pizza. You would think only being able to choose between a hot dog or pizza would make things easier, not for this girl! In the end I went for the Caribbean Dream pizza, which was topped with rum glazed chicken, pineapple and peppers. Since it was my birthday I also decided to treat myself to a fancy cocktail, a Ting A Ling Mojito filled with rum, pineapple, coconut and grapefruit. I am going to be honest I chose the drink mainly because of the name. I'm easily amused. None the less it was lovely, fruity and went down a treat.
I couldn't have asked for anything more, good food and good company. I said my goodbyes and did a bit more exploring.
By the time we got home, we were still quite full from lunch and decided the only thing our stomachs could probably handle was cake. Birthday cake obviously! Mmmmmm.
And just when I thought the day couldn't get any better I got a call all the way from Canada!
Cards and Cake
